Description

NGC 7789, also known as Caroline's Rose, is a beautiful open star cluster located in the constellation Cassiopeia. Discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1783, this cluster is estimated to be around 1.6 billion years old and lies approximately 8,000 light-years away from Earth. It is one of the richest and most densely populated open clusters in the sky, containing hundreds of stars of various ages, sizes, and colors. The arrangement of its stars has been likened to the petals of a rose, hence the nickname "Caroline's Rose." NGC 7789 is a popular target for amateur astronomers and astrophotographers due to its rich stellar population and visually striking appearance.
