Description

The nights have a special atmosphere. At sunset, the sunlight runs out and the air begins to cool due to the radiation. The stars then appear in the empty blue sky. First the brighter ones, then the dimmer ones, finally the remaining sunlight does not penetrate from below the horizon.

In the last month of summer, the Milky Way is already high, while in the east, the autumn constellations are preparing to take over the sky from the location of the summer stars, indicating that autumn is near.

August includes shooting stars. Almost everyone knows that if it is August, the shooting stars will come. These usually take place on August 12, but you can see plenty of shooting stars a few days before and a few days after. Plus, this year is ideal for both the weather and the lunar phase. Most of the shooting stars are not visible in the strong moonlight, while cloud cover makes detection impossible.

Most of the summer amateur astronomer observation camps will be organized around the Perseid meteor flock if the lunar phase allows it. If there’s possibly a Full Moon that week, these camps will be organized by the end of July, where the night can be stunningly spectacular under the spell of moving observers and plenty of binoculars.

The 60-image panorama was realized on one of the clear evenings of the VEGA '21 Summer Amateur Astronomical Observatory, when it was completely dark and observations began. It was planned to take the photo two years ago, but either the weather or the lack of time made it impossible to take it.
