Description

This is another capture of comet C/2022 E3, this time using Astro-Physics Horizon software to track on the comet itself. Recognizing that I had failed to take into consideration the position of the comet as it moved during the night, the previous image taken on January 10, 2023, showed the comet off the the side of the FOV.  For this image I set up NINA to start an imaging run at 3:40 AM, about 5 minutes before Horizons would start up (at 3:45). Instead of slewing to the location of the comet, I had NINA slew and center on a star very close to where the comet should be. Once there, a plate solve and Sync would be done. Then, at 3:45, Horizons would start and slew to the comet. Since I just did a plate-solve and sync the comet should be in the center of the FOV, and it was. Horizons then tracked for the complete imaging run.
