Description

M33 - Nearby 'Island Universe' - A 'mere' 2.7 million light-years from Earth, in the constellation Triangulum, lies the beautiful spiral galaxy  M33.  The third largest member of our local group of galaxies, behind Andromeda and the Milky Way, M33 is home to approximately 40 billion stars.

Equipment and processing used: Celestron RASA-11 telescope with ZWO ASI294 MC Pro one shot color camera riding on an iOptron CEM120-EC2 mount.  N.I.N.A./PHD2 used for image acquisition.  97 individual five minute exposures (over eight hours of data), captured on the nights of November 18th and 19th, 2022.   Processed using PixInsight.  Stars and nebulosity separated using Starnet 2 and processed individually before combining into final image.
