Sagittarius Mosaic

Description

Captured over 4 nights during the month of August 2014 from my Backyard Observatory in Western Michigan using LRGB & H-Alpha filters with the QHY11 Mono CCD/Takahashi E-180 and comprising of 4 panels.

The original image is 6928 x 4015 pixels and covers an area of sky equal to 7.06 x 4.09 degrees and includes quite a few Messier objects including M16, M17, M18, M24 and M25. I am hoping to add to this mosaic next year as these objects are now starting to decline to our western skies but I am grateful to have been able to capture the last (upper left) and fourth panel this week when we had a break in the stormy weather.
