Description

Celestial Spelunking - The Cave Nebula, aka Sh2-155, lies approximately 2,400 light-years distant in the constellation of Cepheus, the King.  It features three types of nebulosity: Hydrogen emission (red), reflection (blue) and dark (opaque areas).  Captured on the nights of September 22 and October 20, 2022 from our observatory in Mariposa, Ca.

Equipment: Celestron RASA-11 scope, ZWO ASI294 MC Pro OSC camera, iOptron CEM120-EC2 mount.
Image acquisition: N.I.N.A./PHD2: 75 individual five minute exposures - 6.25 hours of data.
