Description

This is a cropped and re-framed version of the previous wide-field image of the M100, showing the grand spiral galaxy with the smallest NGC4312 edged-on unbarred spiral galaxy.

I wanted to shoot this grand spiral galaxy with its neighbors so I used the large frame of the APS-C ASI2600 OSC with the Esprit150 to get the desired field of view. 150 frames of 300secs acquired over 5 nights between 05May and 12May2021, provided my biggest yet processing channel for an astrophoto: Balancing the stretching amount required to unveil the neighboring galaxies and the noise reduction forced me to several attempts and long processing hours. This is the final image.

Mouse over to see 20+ annotated neighboring galaxies.
