Description

In 2021 I took several imaging sessions on M1, the Crab Nebula.
Looking at 2 specific dates 50 days apart 10/15 to 12/3 I wondered if I could see the pulsar wind move.  It did move about 2.3pixels, estimated.  At a pixel scale of 0.41arcsec/px, and at 6500lightyear distance, the wave moved some 178Billion miles at about 1/4 lightspeed in only 50 days.

I wonder what else is out there (that we can see) is going this fast?

This is a ROUGH estimate of the wind speed, actual speed might be higher.

Wow.
