Description

This image was taken back in March 2023 when I was scrambling to get any imaging time amid unexpectedly cloudy nights here in Arizona. I had hoped to return to the target for additional exposure time once the skies clear, but just did not get around to it.

The image was taken with a ZWO ASI2600mm Pro through a Celestron 8" EdgeHD on an EQ6-R Pro mount using APT.

The image comprises:

L:     168  x 60s
R:     30 x 60s
G:     30 x 60s
B:     30 x 60s

Total integration time was four hours and 18 minutes. The image was processed in Pixinsight and tweaked in Photoshop.

This was my first attempt to image this galaxy, which was discovered by William Herschel in 1785. Hopefully, next spring will offer more clear nights so I can return to this target and capture more exposure time.
