Description

An Integrated Flux Nebula (IFN) is a complex of visible dust nebulae reflected by an integrated flux of stars in a galaxy rather than a nebula that shines as reflected by a single star, cluster, or cluster. IFNs are relatively better photographed the closer they are to the north and south poles of the celestial sphere, less obscured by the Milky Way, and farther away from the Milky Way. This is because it is very faint, and for the same reason, long exposures and optimal pre-processing and stretching are required. IFN, one of the constituents of the interstellar medium, is composed of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and other elements.

This is a wide-field image of the Virgo galaxy cluster Markarian's Chain.

There are also very faint IFNs in Markarian's Chain, and the messy nebulae in the background in the picture are IFNs.

Also in the picture, light trails are visible around the galaxies M86, M84, and M87, and the intergalactic diffuse light (aka. ICL. Intra Cluster Light) was captured.

The ICL is a field of great interest among various exogalactic studies. Measuring the amount and flow of these ICLs can reveal the history of galaxy cluster formation, and the Virgo cluster is a galaxy cluster that has been studied in various ways related to the ICL.
