Description

ESO 274-1 is rarely imaged and this is no doubt due to its ill defined structure and lack of visual impact. For a challenge I thought I would tackle it under the almost full moon in RGB. Compared to the few images I can find online I am quite happy with my results. There are studies that indicate ESO 274-1 may have collided with NGC 5128 in the distant past. It lies 11.7 million light years away and is Mag 11.7.183 x 180 sec sec RGB images, total integration 9.3 hours from my home observatory and bortle 6 skies and a 94% waxing gibbous moon.
