Description

Centaurus A is one of the brightest galaxies in the night sky and also the brightest source of radio emission in the entire constellation of Centaurus.

my main difficulties with this capture are due to the low brightness of all this dust that surrounds the core. With a DSLR the thermal noise itself ends up mixing with the data.

Here is an image of how the frames came out of stacking, just by unlinking the channels through Pixinsight and applying automatic stretch.

From this point onwards, it took to @Lucas Gonçalves Miranda  almost 3 hours of processing to give the image its final appearance.

A special guest in this image is this small galaxy in the upper right corner, PGC 47188, about 0.5' in angular size (SIMBAD) and its two majestic spiral arms separated by almost 180 degrees.
