Description

Image of the Occultation of Jupiter's moons. Between Io and Ganymede In the picture, the two moons are passing in front of Jupiter, its parent star. But because Io has an orbit closer to Jupiter than Ganymede. Thus, it moved faster in front of Jupiter and the orbits of the two moons at that time were so close that the southern part of Io was obscured by Ganymede.
