Description

Messier 100 (also known as NGC 4321 or the Mirror Galaxy) is a grand designintermediate spiral galaxy in the southern part of the mildly northernComa Berenices. It is one of the brightest and largest galaxies in the Virgo Cluster and is approximately 56 million light-years=10.5px from our galaxy, its diameter being 107,000 light years, and being about 60% as large.  M100 was discovered in 1781, and is one of the brightest member galaxies of the Virgo Cluster of galaxies. M100 is a spiral galaxy, like our Milky Way, and tilted nearly face-on as seen from earth.
Also in the picture are about 50 other annotated galaxies, a very rich galaxy field.
