Description

I hadn't done any HOO before since graduating to a mono camera, so I went in search of targets that would suit this colour palette. I settled on the Trifid, and when I processed it I saw how weird the stars looked, so I resolved to come back and photograph them in RGB and then put them on later.
Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, several weeks of clouds, then the full moon came about, and by the time I was able to image again, the target had already moved too far to the west. So, I have to wait until winter 2023 to get the stars. (Winter as I am in the southern hemisphere).
However as is always the case, my technique and knowledge evolves continuously, so I'll probably just completely re-do this image when the time comes.
But, I'm uploading it here retroactively (it's six months old) so I've got a reference point to come back to. (I'm not ashamed of putting up my learning process here)
