Messier 96 (also known as M96 or NGC 3368) is an intermediate spiral galaxy about 31 million light-years away from us. On a large screen (computer) it is easier to see that there are many faint galaxies in this image that are at distances of 500M light years away (and I captured their photons with my Canon on a 4in refractor from my backyard - mindblowing!!). I really enjoy imaging the region that includes Leo because the area is rich with very distant galaxies.
