Description

The waxing gibbous phase of the moon wasn’t optimal for these imaging sessions, but the sky was clear all week, which is pretty rare at my location. So, I took narrowband images instead of broadband. It was created using Ha and Oiii filters (HOO palette). The stars were extracted through starXterminator, processed separately, and added back together.
The goal of this project was to collect enough data to reveal the details of a faint bubble nebula around the Wolf-Rayet star WR 134. WR 134 is a variable Wolf-Rayet star located around 6,000 light years away from Earth in the constellation of Cygnus. To me, WR 134 and WR nebula around it is a fascinating target that stands out for its interesting combination of bright stars, hydrogen gas, and oxygen gas.
Thanks for looking, and clear skies!
