Description

My second image of the night after Andromeda had set further to the west. A single clear night even with 10-12 mph winds, temps starting at -5 F , and 70% illuminated moon was all I could ask for to get first light on the new camera after a 3 week wait. 4 hrs with OSC and 70% illuminated moon eliminated lots of options, but I though the Rosette would be bright enough. Lots of detail preserved in this capture, more than I had expected. A decent leap forward from Ha +OSC with the RASA and the 294MC and 1600MM 3 years ago:

Rosette Nebula Ha +OSC (Sh2-275 / NGC 2244)

Locate in the constellation of Monoceros, the nebula is about 5,000 light years from earth and measures approximately 130 light years in diameter.
