Description

Comet C/2021 A1 (Leonard) photographed in the early morning hours of December 10th 2021.

The day before it had snown quite heavily and I needed snow chains to get to one of my viewing sites. This comet moves realy fast and it is actually not that bright - it was hardly visible in 10x70 binoculars.

Please note that I artificially coloured the ion tail blue. Because of the low position of the comet (between 11° and 20°) the faint colour of that tail apparently drowned in light pollution.

QHY600C on Skywatcher Esprit 100/550, 135x 30 seconds.
