It has been a short while of absence due to a minor surgery the other day. "Fortunately", it was cloudy and raining while joking with the nurses during my 4-days-stay. Unbelievable how many compliments I got from the nurses -- never happens to me at home.

Actually, I had an egg-sized fat lump (in medical jargon, an ostrich egg) removed from my, ahem, 'behind' and after the surgery I told the nurses, "my ass is now looking better than my face". Immediately they responded, "hihi, hihi, oh no Robert-san, both of yours are so beautiful". Well, only seeing is believing. À propos, seeing:

PM2.5 pollution was 4.4 x normal, whatever 'normal' is. The authorities adjust the normal level to political and economical convenience and so make people believe they are suffering naturally.

The average FWHM of 5.3" measured by SharpCap Pro 4.1 testifies the poor seeing, but I wanted to catch and wear the helmet before the Big Dog runs into spring. Ambient 15ºC/55%RH were brilliant while the sensor temperature levelled at welcome 20ºC with passive cooling only.

Never really cared about offset, but I set the camera to offset 10 just to see how much more room this would give me for calibration, but I didn't notice any big difference. The backfocus from the Baader coma corrector to the sensor seems accurate enough and I won't split millimeters.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
