Description

I managed to get a few clear nights and decided to try some galaxies that were new to me. I saw a recent posting of NGC 3945 which is a barred lenticular galaxy. It not often imaged by amateurs - there are only 2 other images on Astrobin. I figured it was "above my job grade but, I thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately the moon was around a quarter full and my scope was next to a lake covered in very reflective snow. Far from dark out. Still, I'm gad I tried it . I think to get much detail on this galaxy one would need a bigger scope - I used an AT8RC - and darker skies.
