Description

The Cygnus Loop, (located in the constellation of Cygnus), is the remnant of a supernova explosion from a star twenty times more massive than our Sun. It consists of many components, which include NGC6960 (Western Veil), NGC6992 (Eastern Veil), Pickering's Triangle etc. In terms of size and distance from Earth, it is 37 parsecs (120 light years) in diameter, and at 2400 light years distance with an estimated age of around 20,000 years since the detonation.

Image comprises four individual imaging panels constructed using the ASIAir Plus (8 images per 4 panels).
