Description

The more that I learn about using Pixinsight, the more it seems like some sort of forbidden magic that leaves me wondering whether or not a mere mortal as myself should even be wielding such power :-) Seriously, this is a no-stars crop of my previous NGC 7000 image, emphasizing the structures in the ionization front known as the Cygnus Wall. As a side note, the tiny ruddy feature imbedded in the dark nebula (aka the Gulf of Mexico) at the upper right hand quadrant of this image is a real feature. It is a RNO (red nebulous object) that is associated with the fetal star V2493 Cygni. Ironically, V2493 Cygni appears to be an FU Orionis type variable star with an associated nebula, much like the object that I discovered in early 2004 that now bears my name. More info about McNeil's Nebula can be found here: http://www.deepskyastro.com/mcneilsnebula.html

Once again, thanks for looking!
