Description

This image was actually taken a few years ago at a place called Wolf Creek pass in the Uinta Mountains in northern Utah. It is almost ideal for imaging. it is around a Bortle 2 and is just a foot or two less than 10,000 feet. I have taken some images there that are really good considering how short my total exposure times have been . The only down side of that area is how short the warm season is at that altitude. It becomes very cold by the end of September.  The silver lining to the cold in this area is the first frost, which can happen in august, kills all the mosquitos for the season.

I took this shot with my Sony A7RIII camera with a Sony 24 to 105 zoom. The exposure was length was 15 seconds and the ISO was 3200. I propped the camera on one of my cases and adjusted the angle of the lens with some flat pebbles. One of these days I will remember to bring a tripod for my camera.
