Description

Sh2-114 (the Flying Dragon nebula) is a faint and a seldom imaged nebula located in the constellation of Cygnus.

Not much in depth study appears to have occurred so far regarding Sh2-114 beyond its initial cataloging. The nebula appears to have a filamentous structure, comprised of several overlapping arched strands. A semicircle shaped cloud with a concave shape appears to left and comprises nearby Sh2-113, a bubble structure similar to a supernova remnant. No supernova remnants have ever been described in this region though, so Its complex, wispy structure is more likely the result of winds from hot, massive stars interacting with the magnetic fields in the interstellar medium.

I was not able to find any information regarding this nebula's distance from us.
