Description

Super Nova 2023ixf in M101. It's the brightest object in the galaxy but because the image is so stretched it looks to be about as bright as the core - it's actually much brighter. Quite a sight.
Captured during nautical twilight as there's no true darkness now in Scotland until the end of August . Might try for some colour data if the opportunity arises.

Description: An LRGB version of of the mono image. RGB data was collected during 1.5 hours of nautical twilight and was of poor quality. The colours were difficult to balance but it looks ok considering.
