Description

I have recorded this 1 x 3 panels HOO mosaic during the nights of 22, 23 September and 2,4,5 October 2022. I have spent long hours in post processing: panels were not matching easily due to subtle gradients and different color and noise profiles.

Sh2-126 is a very large object, and pretty faint that makes imaging challenging, and causing it not to be as popular as it would probably deserve. As far as I know, it doesn't even have a settled nickname. During the project I used the code name "breath", as it reminded me the slow motion of warm waves in the air.

The star 10 Lacerta (center-left in the image) is responsible for the hydrogen nebula glow. The nebula is located 1200 ly away.

On the top-right of the field is visible the famous Gecko Nebula LBN 437, that I imaged in RGB here and here with a longer focal.
