Always fun to the see the improvement and variations in my captures of the iconic M31 Andromeda Galaxy over the Years. I still enjoy the RASA8 version from last year most, but the Askar preformed up to expectation except I had some minor background modeling. I darkened the background more then usual and am overall content with the results.
The Andromeda Galaxy is our closest large spiral galaxy in the local group. One of my favorite things to do at night from my backyard still after 4 years into this hobby is to look up and see the galaxy with my own naked eyes. Using averted gaze to see the central point and two spindles about 2x width of the full moon is always incredible.
The galaxy is 2.5 million light years from earth and measures 140,000 light years across. Because of the proximity we can see the Hydrogen Alpha regions and large clouds like NGC 206 along with globular clusters.
