Description

This started off as a couple of Sharpless objects in a field of dark nebula. Then I noticed a ring structure in the upper right of the image. Initially I thought it was a flat error, but a little research showed it was a special variable star. And it's an object that has been studied by the HST extensively. It's actually V1331, described in an article "Hubble Sees Young Star V1331 Cyg, It's Nebular Environment." Here is the link to an article describing the star and it environment (http://www.sci-news.com/astronomy/science-hubble-young-star-v1331cyg-nebular-environment-02555.html).

Read it, it's a short article but fascinating. Here is just one quote from the article. "What makes this star special is the fact that astronomers look almost exactly at one of its poles. Usually, the view of a young star is obscured by the dust from the circumstellar disc and the envelope that surround it. However, with V1331Cyg astronomers are actually looking in the exact direction of a jet driven by the star that is clearing the dust and giving us this magnificent view."

This image shows two inserts, one the Hubble image itself and the second, and enlarged version of what was captured here.

Look closely at your images. You can never tell what you might find.

Enjoy.
