Description

This is IC-417 (a.k.a. SH2-234) composed of about 5-1/2 hours of RGB and 4 hours of Ha, taken in late November and early December. Your basic emission nebula: hot stars, lots of excited gasses, 10k light-years away in Auriga.

I'm not sure how I feel about the stars. Lately it seems like star bloat with the brightest stars in RGB has been over-powering. Not sure if it's over-exposure, or the filters, or the scope  or the camera, but it just doesn't seem like they should swell up so much. Someone suggested haze or fog, but it's been happening over a long period of time in an area not known for either. It seems like I should be able to control them better, but can't. Any tips or suggestions here would be appreciated.
