Description

This open cluster, if it can be called cluster, was listed by Melotte in 1915, actually is Melotte 227, also by Trumpler in 1930 and Collinder in 1931. It has 29 stars, and is wide open, actually stars 1 to 4 are not in the image, are close to the left hand side border. Also 24 and 25 are just below the inferior border of the image.
There are 4 galaxies in the image but only ESO 25-19 can be seen clearly, quite faint and small near the centre of the image. The other ones you can identify only looking at the same time the Simbad image or just thanks to plate solving annotations.
There are not many mentions of the cluster in the literature but it has nice stars, a bit far apart but nice anyway.
In the image also are CC and CE Octants, stars 11 and 14 of the cluster respectively.
