Description

As mention in my previous post, I focused on the Veil nebula this week up in Overgaard in my nice Bortle 1 skies.  Even though the moon came up later in the evenings I don't think it spoiled things too much as it was mostly behind my Redcat 51 while it was shooting.

This version is the SHO version.  Like my RGB version, I used Bill Blanshan's pixel math process for star reduction.  This worked out quite well.  Anyone who has shot the Veil nebula knows the background stars can be over the top and block a lot of the nebula details.  The SHO version actually surprised me quite a bit.  I was not prepared for the very large amount of nebulosity this filter set picked up vs what I was able to catch with my RGB version.  I obviously took some artistic license with my color selections.  I based it loosely upon the narrow band tutorials from Adam Block.  My goodness this is a beautiful object with its multitude of filaments across the sky.

This was a fun project and I've learned a lot.

Enjoy!
