Description

SH2-301 is an underappreciated nebula in the Canis Major constellation.  It is located roughly 13,000 light years away from Earth.  It is believed that the system is in a rather advanced state of evolution.

There are relatively few images of this target on Astrobin despite its relatively large size and high surface brightness.   It was a straightforward image to process and I was able to resolve quite a bit of fine detail with little sharpening required.
