      Description

Being able to shoot targets like this is why I installed a rig at Deep Sky West. This intriguing reflection nebula is about 1,500 light years away from us in Cepheus and is lit by a number of large, hot stars. Part of the Cepheus Flare at the edge of the Milky Way's plane, the Ghost is about two light years across and exhibits clear signs of star formation. The left "eye" of the Ghost is thought to be a low-mass binary star system forming in Bok globule CB230 while producing the red outflow Herbig-Haro 157.
