Description

Since I had the data edited for the SHO version, I also completed at HOO version with adding 25% of the Ha to the green and blue channels to simulate an Hb effect.

H2-119 "The Clamshell Nebula" is a large emission nebula 2 degree east of the North America Nebula in Cygnus. The bright star Cygni 68 appears to be bright Peral with the large mouth in the swirling blue ocean water. An estimated 1,800 light years from earth, the formation measures approximately 2 x 3 degrees in our apparent field of few. With some basic trig, this yield that the formation is roughly 60 x 90 light years.

My favorite part of the images are the dark dust formation and spiculated formation. The accompanying  bok globules located in the right portion of the nebula provide additional eye candy.
