Description

The Shrimp lies in Cassiopeia and is only 850 l.y. distant.  It's sometimes called the Dolphin Nebula, but to me Shrimp is more appropriate.  It is, after all, one of the small Sharpless objects.  Until I took this image and saw its structures, I did not understand that it is a planetary nebula.   I suspect this system is moving through the interstellar medium at a good pace, creating a shock wave  in the direction it travels and a spreading out behind.  This narrowband rendition uses both H and S images in the red channel and O plus 30% S in the blue and green channels.  I call this HSOO.
