Description

WeBo 1 (PN G135.6+01.0) is a ringlike planetary nebula, tilted at an angle of 70 degrees toward the Earth, so that it appears elliptical when viewed from the Earth's direction. The orange central star has been spectroscopically identified as a cold barium star. The star is currently thought to be the binary companion of a more massive Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) star, which has now become a white dwarf and cannot be seen.
