Description

This is the Cave Nebula (SH2-155) in RGB, with some Ha and O-iii for kicks: 9 hours total. A mere 2400 light-years away, SH2-155 is a star-forming region, thanks -- it is suspected -- to the bright O-class star HD-217086, just above the frame center, compressing the gasses and dust in the region with its own radiation. I'd love to get a little more star color out of this, but it seemed to come at the cost of the glowing nebulosity ... and the nebulosity won. ;-)
