Description

I imaged M13 about a year ago.  Looking at that previous image it was not bad but the core was blown out more than required.  I cut this shot back from over 2 hours on the previous one to only 30 minutes.  I actually tried to do an HDR image.  I shot this with 6x300", 23x150" and 33x75".  When I assembled things in PI the 6x300" shot looked almost identical if not better than the HDR composition so I simply went with this.  I will look at this again probably next year.  What I might do then is a comparison of more shorter exposures vs less longer exposures.  I'm finding that my attempts at HDR astronomical images are not like working with outside landscape HDR images.  Not a surprise really as the S/N issues are so different.

I always enjoy clusters.  They don't have the wow factor of galaxies and nebulas but they have a beauty all their own.
