Description

The Crescent Nebula (aka Sharpless 105) is rendered here in HOO (Hydrogen alpha mapped to red, OIII mapped to green and blue) along with RGB stars. This was especially fun to capture as I've been able to tune my very fiddly mount to allow for longer exposure time. Given the faintness of the OIII emission, I would have liked to go longer than 10min exposure time, but it seems to have worked (likely will add more data at some point).

In the very center, you can see a dark blob to the right and slightly down from the bright star in the middle of the Nebula. I see that showing up in other photographers' photos, but haven't found much about it. Just a blob of non-emission gas/dust? Something else?
