I processed this data back in July 2018, but I always felt that the image was a little anaemic (see: Sharpless 2-132: the Lion Nebula in Cepheus - a two-panel mosaic in 'Hubble Palette' (SHO)). This is a reprocess from scratch. As well as finding a bit more colour, I have cropped the image a little in order to emphasise the main nebula in the frame. I have, however, retained Abell 79 - the very small area of nebulosity in the lower right segment of the frame.

Sharpless 2-132 (the ‘Lion Nebula’) is an emission nebula in the constellation of Cepheus. It is estimated to be 10,000 to 11,500 light years from Earth.

This is a two panel mosaic. Data for the mosaic were collected between 24 June and 20 July 2018.

Capture details are as follows:

Telescope: Takahashi FSQ 106

SII: 34 x 1200s
Ha: 34 x 1200s
