Description

An immigrant scotsman James Dunlop sat in his backyard in 1826 in Parramatta, Sydney Australia looking into the sky. He found Centaurus A (also known as NGC 5128 or Caldwell 77). This Galaxy is one of the closest to our Earth and the fifth brightest in our skies. Being only visible from the Southern Hemisphere, this wonderful galaxy contains an epic relativistic jet that shoots out x-ray and radioactive wavelengths....seriously...that's cool! Being a mere ~13m light years away...perhaps one day someone from earth will head over there and check out that jet!
