Description

Sharpless 119, also know as the Clamshell Nebula, is a large emission nebula in Cygnus just two degrees east of the more frequently imaged North America Nebula.

The star in the center of the image (68 Cygni) looks like a little white pearl in the middle of the clamshell.

The hydrogen alpha signal is moderate but sulphur Is very weak.  I'm going to try to add some Oiii data but I'm expecting this emission signal to be very weak too.

I also posted the hydrogen alpha data as a black and white image.

Thanks for looking!
