Description

Sh2-284 is a beautiful emission nebula at about 17,000 light years distant and is located in the Norma (Outer) arm of the Milky Way.  I have seen references calling Sh2-284 the "Ring of Fire" or "Little Rosette".

Sh2-284 also known as LBN 983 and LBN 984., is illuminated by members of the star cluster Dolidze 25.

Imager's note:  This was a first look at this object for me and although I got a passable image for the time invested, this object calls for much more integraion time which I hope to give it as it's a beautiful object will lots of secrets waiting to be revealed!
