Description

As usual, at the end of each year I like to summarize what happened during the year with regard to my passion for astrophotography.
2023 was a fairly complicated year because it was characterized by slightly too inclement weather in Italy which often forced me to take risks. Despite this, I managed to complete 52 images ("only", compared to 82 last year), accumulating almost 700 hours of acquisition. Production has decreased compared to 2022 but, in my opinion, the quality of my photos has increased because I pay more attention to the acquisition phase and the processing phase is constantly growing.
As for the awards, this year I focused more on publications and I must say that I obtained great satisfaction with 29 of my photos published in the major magazines in the sector, both Italian and international, as well as an article published in the June issue of Cosmo. In particular, 8 images were published in the online magazine Amateur Astrophotography, 11 in the Italian magazine Cosmo, 1 in Coelum Astronomia, 2 in the English BBC Sky at Night, 2 in the American Astronomy , 3 on the English Astronomy Now (one even as image of the month) and 2 on the German Sterne und Weltraum.
Although I focused more on the magazines, 24 very welcome APODs also arrived on various sites (7 on astronomy.com, 8 on AAPOD2, 8 on APODGrAG and 1 on astronomy.com) and the highly coveted IOTD on Astrobin.
My participation in the ShaRA project remains active, with which we photographed 7 wonderful objects remotely from Chile.

To conclude, I would like to thank the many people I have met since I started practicing astronomical photography with whom I share opinions and advice on acquisition and processing techniques on a daily basis. Without them it would have been difficult to improve and achieve so many goals.
