Description

SH2-136 is referred to as the Ghost of Cepheus and the Ghost Nebula due to its ghastly appearance. There are several new stars embedded in the nebula itself which give this faint reflection nebula its brownish glow. It's located about 1400 light years away and 2 light years across in the constellation of Cepheus. It provides us with a welcoming scary apparition as we near Halloween!
