Description

My latest project from January-March, 2020. My goal was to process a highly detailed image over a total integration time no less than 20 hours using a Baader 3.5nm H-alpha filter. Other equipment listed above.

To accomplish this, I utilized the subframe selector in Pixinsight with FWHM and Eccentricity settings that culled only the sharpest subframes (sharpest to my eye); accordingly, none of the individual images were captured at an altitude lower than 44 degrees (the Flaming Star Nebula has a maximum altitude of about 82 degrees from my latitude).

Pixinsight processing included Local Normalization, Drizzle Integration, Dynamic Crop, Deconvolution, Background Enhance, and Local Histogram Equalization.
