Description

The 15 light-years wide Cocoon Nebula is located at the border of the constellations of Cygnus and Cepheus. It can be found at the end of a snake-like dark nebula, known as Barnard 168.

Stack of 90 exposures of 5 minutes each at f/5.5.
Taken on August 14th and Septeber 2nd 2021 in rural Upper Austria with a QHY600C-PH and a Skywatcher Esprit 100 at 550mm focal length. Tracking with Skywatcher EQ6-R, Autoguiding with MGEN-3. Processed with Astro Pixel Proxessor, StarnetV2 and Photoshop.

P.S.: In September 2022 I took 7 hours (84x 5 minutes) of luminance with a QHY600 mono camera and added it to the old RGB data. The result is a much deeper exposure with less noise.
