Description

"...the Lobster Claw Nebula, is an emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia, at a distance of approximately 11050 light years from the Earth. The redish-yellow part of the nebula is a very large H II region that is ring-shaped by the stellar wind of several giant stars, including the bright and very young Wolf-Rayed star WR 57. The small bright region is Lyn's Bright Nebula 537 (LBN537 or Sharpless 157a). The blue colored regions at the right part of the image mainly consist of highly ionized oxygen (OIII) and other gases. Developing this project took more than I thought.  I apply the Ed's workflow and I was pleased with the result in the first part developed as a SHO Hubble palette.  Then after I did several test with the Ha and [OIII] split data, first stacking together the Extreme and Triad sessions then working separately both filter data. Other stack was done with the L-Pro session for get the stars.

I did not like to much the result image with the extraction done of Ha and [OIII] data combined as HOO, although that work was combined in the final image.  Also it was done a stack with only the Triad data of 1,3 hour and incorporated in the final image.  The end image is a complete mix of three developed works where the SHO work is like the 75% and the other works 'cover' the rest.

I know that this way of work is strange, but until I did not get what I feel show more nebulosity and details I continue doing tests with the data I have.

During this project I had some problems also with the computer system that Mauri have to fix and that situation delay for almost two weeks the work on this project and after that situation, the graphic card showed a bug that affected one of the tools that I used a lot in Ps (Select and Mask) and until now is not working any more properly which is a problem that I have to work around for try to do the same in areas of interest in the image.

I found that this framed part of the constellation Cassiopeia give and extraordinary view of several sky objects that are more or less close and fit very well in a medium scope focal length.  To have such different nebulae formation, open star cluster, giant stars and star formation zone is a nice wonder that can be appreciate at once and it was a good challenge work.  We hope you like it.
