Description

The Spaghetti Nebula (Sh2-240, Simeis 147) is a 40,000 year old supernova remnant about 3 degrees across between the constellations of Auriga and Taurus. Almost spherical in shape the shockwaves from the supernova can be seen in ionised Hydrogen (pink/red) and ionised Oxygen (blue).

Imaged on 29 Jan, 4 Feb and 6 Feb 2022 from my Bortle 5 back garden with a Redcat 51 (250mm) and ASI 1600MM mono camera on an unguided iOptron Skyguider with RGB filters for stars and H Alpha and OIII narrowband filters:
- RGB 40 x 60s each for stars
- OIII 100 x 120s 
- Ha 270 x 120s 
About 14 hours total exposure
